I’m still alive and around…I have missed everyone so much but things have definitely been crazy in our house.
Miss. Jera turned 1 on the 14th…right in the mist of having a bad ear infection and some crazy virus that caused her to have very high temperatures. This meant several days of trying to juggle staying home with Jera, working around Tony’s school and work schedule and trying to work myself. Eek! It was absolutely crazy.
Following the ear infection and the virus…poor little Jera came down with Hand Foot & Mouth (HF&M). For those of you who don’t know what HF&M is it is a virus that is compared a lot to the Chicken Pox. Basically they breakout in these little blisters/rashes that occur around the stated areas as well as the diaper region. It doesn’t affect them much, unless they get the blisters IN their mouth which act a lot like canker sores. The problem is that you HAVE to keep them home and in isolation until the blisters scab over. This meant several more days of staying home with her and juggling our crazy schedules!
Today is my first FULL day back to work in what seems like FOREVER! It’s been an interesting few weeks and I’m hoping that she will stay away from any other infected children at her daycare so we can go back to a regular schedule in our daily lives. After having so many days on and off, it’s a bit hard to get back into the swing of things. You’re constantly trying to get caught up while also completing tasks that you have set up for the present…just a lot of action!
On top of that, I’m trying to get back into the swing of my exercise routine. It definitely took a back burner to everything else that has been happening…and I’m definitely feeling it physically from the inside and out. I’m picking back up and feeling much better…but now I have to get back to where I was at in order to continue to work towards my goals.
We are also about 3 months away from our wedding! Eek…I’ve definitely been refocusing on the wedding planning and we’ve officially sent out our invitations, as of TODAY! We’ll see what the next few months holds for us, but I’m definitely ready to have all of the details completely hammered out.
BTW…Today is the start to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! I’ve never been screened before, but since I’m in my late 20′s and this type of cancer can affect women at any age, I’ve decided I’m going to get tested this year. I’m going to start now and continue on…I’ve heard it’s not the funnest test in the world, but I think it’s WELL WORTH IT!
Ok, now I’m going to leave you with some fun pictures!
Jere’s birthday theme was KSU + the Minions from Despicable Me!
Jera’s pre-cake and post-cake face!
My Mom gave Jera this really cute chair and she LOVES it! She is constantly crawling up in it with different toys and sitting there smiling and laughing. It was definitely a great purchase that will see a lot of play time.
