Bookfessions #7

Thanks again BOOKFESSIONS!

This is slightly embarrassing to admit but it’s the complete and utter truth!:-) When I get finished with a book I love I have a big goofy grin on my face, I might bounce in a my seat a little, chuckle to myself and hug the book. What??!!!ย  I can’t be the only person who does things like this…right?!?!

Guilty as charged. Yep, right now with my little bookshelf the books are double stacked. I hate that I have to place books I’ve read in the back behind books I haven’t read because I want to show the books off…but then of course I don’t want to be fumbling through all of my old books trying to figure out when new book I want to read. Oh it’s tough being a reader sometimes.๐Ÿ˜›

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN, and AMEN to this statement! I’ve said this before but I really can’t say it enough. I know that everyone is really obsessed with their eReaders, and that’s fine for them, but it’s not fine for me. I love my physical copies of books and I can’t deny it. LOL. The eReaders just aren’t the same, you don’t have the feel of the book in your hand, you dont’ have the ability to fold over pages, underline sentences, break it in and smell that wonderful smell of a printed book. You also can’t place your bookmark in the place you’re reading, shut the book and look at it from the top to see how far you are in the book and how much more you have to go…it’s such a wonderful reading to see your progress that way.

Pretty sure I don’t have to say much here, do I?! I only speak the truth and this is definitely one of them. :-Pย I love authors, I love the worlds they can place us in with just their words. I love that they actually appreciate their fans and take the time to communicate with them on a real person level, like Twitter and Facebook.ย  I know that actors and sports stars have so many fans they can’t really keep up with them all but I wish they would take the time to at least try to get to know some of their fans and really keep in touchย instead of being in a completely different world then the real one. These are the reasons I love authors, I like to be able to actually have a friendship with an author that I love and adore…it’s one of the best feelings in the world!๐Ÿ˜€

What about you ladies? Do any of these apply for you??!! Or am I all alone in crazy land? Tehehehe.

  1. They can never replace real books! I have to be able to hug a book ;:D

  2. Lol! Nutter. But sometimes I hug my kindle! I think if I lived in america and it was easier to get hold of american authors I’d be paperback all the way but it’s really hard here in the UK and kindle makes it so much easier for me I wouldn’t know what to do without it now.

    • Oh ok, yeah that makes a lot of sense Ally! I didn’t realize that it was so hard for you to get american authors there but I can see why you are very in love with you eReader.๐Ÿ˜€ Kindle’s are pretty amazing because you can have your books with you constantly.

  3. blodeuedd made me giggle. And I totally ditto her comment. These posts are fun Deanna. Very nice!

  4. I agree with Ally, I don’t know what I would do without my reader (geo-restrictions).
I hug my reader too and sometimes when the books is really good I lick it… I’m kidding… am I?
